Four Minutes have been shortlisted for Welsh ICE Business of the Year at the Caerphilly Business Forum Awards!

The Caerphilly Business Forum Awards are considered one of Wales’s most hotly contested and prestigious business awards. Rewarding success and recognising business excellence within Caerphilly County Borough over the last 12 months, the Awards are open to businesses of all sizes and from all sectors who can compete for one of the coveted titles.

Four minutes have invested more than 10 years of first aid training experience to try to find a better way to deliver critical skills needed to save a life. Our goal is to increase the number of people who can respond to emergencies, with the confidence to act without hesitation.

They have developed a Mixed Reality platform combining, visual and tactile feedback to deliver a near-real-life, immersive training experience.

Their patented technology combines with a standard VR headset and CPR manikin to deliver highly accurate training simulations using immersive gaming technology. In schools and the corporate market this represents a cost effective solutions to delivering first aid skills on a regular basis. If they train children, they will eventually reach the whole population and the social impact could be huge.

On being shortlisted, Founder Fotini said:

“As a start-up we’ve been amazed at the support and interest we’ve received over the past year here in Welsh ICE. We received the highest public vote at Pitch@Palace Wrexham and were selected to go Buckingham Palace. We been short listed for the Wales Awards Tech Startup of 2018 and the Be the Spark Inspire Wales Pitch It event.

We are really exciting to be shortlisted for the Caerphilly Forum Business Welsh ICE award and look forward to future growth.”

Unlike other categories in the awards which are based on business size or sector, the only criteria for the Welsh ICE Award is that the entries were from ICE members. With over 160 businesses based in our Caerphilly Campus, this award recognises the diverse range of talent on offer from our members and gives them an opportunity to showcase themselves to other businesses across the County Borough. Also shortlisted were Big Lemon, Plutus Consultancy, Weird Triangle and Jane Oriel.

This year’s Awards will be held at Llechwen Hall on 23rd November 2018. You can view the full shortlist here.
