Election 2016 “Creating the right political climate for a growing business economy”

11th April 2016

Gareth Jones

“Creating the right political climate for a growing business economy” sponsored by the British Private Equity and Venture Capital Association and Gorwel, the independent, non-party Welsh think-tank.

Join us on the evening of Monday 25th April at ICE for this free event to hear what impact the outcome of the upcoming election will have on the Welsh economy, and have your questions answered by the local and national candidates.

We will be holding the debate as part of the hustings for the Assembly elections with an open question and answer session to discuss which political party believes it has the best policies for encouraging business growth in Wales.

Senedd

Chaired by our CEO, Gareth Jones, representatives from five of the key parties will be present:

  • David Melding (Conservatives)
  • Hefin David (Labour)
  • Veronica German (Welsh Liberal Democrats)
  • Delyth Jewell (Plaid Cymru)
  • Sam Gould (UKIP)

The event will run from 17:15 – 19:15 at ICE, and drinks and light food will be provided.  It is open to the public, and there is no charge thanks to the kind sponsorship from the BVCA.  [Note: the event is not held at the usual venue for Gorwel events]

Both the Welsh economy and business development remain some of the most important policy aspects of the forthcoming Welsh Assembly elections for all political parties. Whether it is the need to encourage more venture capital in Wales or understand how a new Welsh Assembly government will deal with its future tax raising powers with respect to business, there are a variety of questions that need asking and answering.

Senedd siambr

This joint session on the 25th April between Welsh ICE, Gorwel and sponsored by the BVCA allows both the political parties to set out their business platform and you the audience to ask questions on their policies. It will also allow you the opportunity to put forward your own ideas and business lessons on how the business environment may be improved and supported more.

After the main debate there will be the opportunity to network and speak directly with politicians on a one-to-one basis.

This talk is sponsored by the BVCA – British Private Equity and Venture Capital Association.Hustings partners
