Welsh ICE offering 50 startup businesses 12 months free membership through ICE50

1st January 2019

Welsh ICE has opened a new round of funding and we’re now inviting applications from 50 vibrant start-ups and entrepreneurs to join our community in 2019.

The funding is designed to give start-up businesses a structured route to sustainability, creating jobs and boosting the Welsh economy.

The support will be delivered through our ICE 50 programme, where 50 start-up businesses will receive a fully-funded package including desk space, a tailored mentoring programme, creative workshops, business facilities, high-speed internet access and one-to-one support for 12 months.

This follows our announcement last year that Welsh ICE had been chosen to deliver one of four new regional enterprise hubs, with the Campus supporting the South East Wales Valleys region.

The hubs are funded by the European Regional Development Fund through the Welsh Government and will see over £4m invested to provide supportive spaces and mentoring for new and growing businesses.

Since founding in 2012 businesses at ICE have generated a £53m net GVA benefit to the Welsh Economy, and the Campus now looks to support the next generation of start-up businesses.

Campus Director Jamie McGowan said:

“It is well documented that entrepreneurs need the right environment, support and the community in order to grow and develop their businesses. To be able to offer 50 new businesses membership to the ICE community, for free is very exciting. There have been some incredible businesses grow through our previous ICE50 programmes, I cant wait to meet the next cohort.”

In addition to the funding, and to help us keep fresh and stay in line with modern working trends we’ve also had a refresh of our very first coworking area on campus. We’ve created a larger, more fluid working space to make it easier to collaborate, focus and be inspired without having to stray too far from the workstation.

The ICE50 programme is open to applicants now. Apply here or call 02920 140 040 for more information.
