This year will see the Wales Technology Awards powered by ICE member, the ESTnet return for the fifth year on the 22nd June at the Wales Millennium Centre. The tech industry generates over £8billion for the Welsh economy and the achievements of the 39,000 people it employs, must be recognised.

The categories reflect the make up of the technology industry in Wales. Together there are over 3000 strong and growing, full of  dynamic, ambitious young companies with huge growth potential, as well as established multi-national businesses.

For businesses with potential who started after January 2015 there is the prestigious Sir Michael Moritz Tech start-up Award, always a really popular category. If you’ve developed a new product that’s really made a difference to your business, the Innovative Product category could be for you. Have you done well by doing good in the last 12 months? If so then what about entering the Industry Trailblazer Award for companies that have attracted more females to the tech industry, created a fantastic place to work, or supported the environment or local community?

There are Awards for talented individuals too! Best New Talent is for anybody who’s made a real positive impact in their first role in a tech company. Technology Leader rewards those who show vision and commitment (not just CEO’s and MD’s!), and Tech Investor of the Year rewards investors who help companies with growth potential.

The ESTnet managing director Avril Lewis said;

“Wales is a small country, which punches well above its weight when it comes to developing the enabling technologies that advance the way we all work and live. The Wales Technology Awards, powered by the ESTnet, champion the outstanding achievements made by Wales’ technology sector and those who work with them.”

To acknowledge the impact Welsh technology has on other sectors they’ve introduced the Tech Adopter Award, for companies that have improved by adopting a Welsh tech product.

Entry is through a simple online form. Good luck and hope to see you on June 22 at the Wales Millennium Centre.
