This year’s Young Enterprise competition is being held at Big Pit National Coal Museum on April 9th. It will bring 7 teams of students from different schools together as each showcase their product, which has been in development over the past year, all for a chance to win the top prize – the ability to set up their own business for a year with the help of expert business mentors. But firstly, they will have to convince a panel of judges who will be scrutinising their every move from business reports to profit margins.

The Young Enterprise scheme encourages young people to embrace an entrepreneurial spirit and has been successful in inspiring new start-ups and innovative products as well as offering a unique experience of the ‘real-world’ in preparation for future business success.

The winner will go forward to the Welsh National Finals for a chance to represent Wales at the Young Enterprise National UK finals in July.

As proud supporters of Young Enterprise, our very own Mandy Weston AKA Dr Know will be taking part as one of the pro judges- and she says the competition is tough!
