ICE member Burst Publishing has signed Hannah Collins of House of Zinthos and will be publishing her debut children’s novel.
Hannah is one of the twenty authors receiving a bursary this year from Literature Wales. She said:
“I’m so thrilled to be one of the 20 writers in Wales to receive funding from Literature Wales’ New Writers Bursary to write my first children’s book. It’s been something of a passion project for me since studying Creative Writing at University but I never had the time to really sit down and get anything finished, so this bursary is going to be instrumental in helping me finally achieve this. I’m also really excited to be collaborating with Simone from Burst Publishing too, who will be helping me edit and publish the book.”
Simone Greenwood of Burst Publishing added:
“I’m really thrilled that Hannah has received recognition and support from Literature Wales, and even more so that she has agreed to sign with Burst to publish her debut children’s novel. She has the winning combination of great illustration and compelling writing, and the story has a Chris Priestley / Neil Gaiman vibe – get ready to be spooked! It’s amazing where a few conversations in the co-lab can lead.”
The book is going to be a cyber-ghost story aimed at children aged 8-12 years-old. We’re super excited and can’t wait to read it!
