The Enterprise Placement gives employees the opportunity to work from Welsh ICE for one or two days a week over a two-month period.
They continue carrying out their usual role, but from inside an active entrepreneurial community of founders, freelancers and growing businesses.
This is more than simply providing another desk. It gives employees a change of environment, new professional connections and the opportunity to experience different ways of thinking and solving problems.
By spending regular time at Welsh ICE, participants can gain fresh perspectives, develop their confidence and bring new ideas back into your organisation.
What is included with Enterprise Placement?
A different kind of employee development
Not all development needs to happen through a formal training course.
New environments, relationships and conversations can help people see challenges differently, discover new ideas and grow in confidence.
The Enterprise Placement gives participating employees regular exposure to entrepreneurial thinking while allowing them to remain connected to their role and responsibilities.
Continue doing the day job
Participants use their Enterprise Placement days to carry out their normal work from Welsh ICE.
They do not need to step away from their role or complete a separate training programme. Instead, learning happens naturally through the environment, events, conversations and connections around them.
Become part of the community
Participants receive Welsh ICE Community Membership throughout the two-month pilot.
They can work alongside founders, freelancers and growing businesses, attend selected community activities and build relationships outside their usual professional network.
Where appropriate, our community team will also introduce participants to members who may offer a useful perspective, shared interest or potential connection.
Access a professional place to work
Participants have access to Welsh ICE at Ty Merlin, Caerphilly Business Park, during their agreed coworking days.
The space includes:

Bring new perspectives back

Become a Founding Employer
The Enterprise Placement is launching with a limited pilot for a small number of organisations.
Founding Employers will receive an introductory rate in return for providing feedback and helping Welsh ICE shape the future of the offer.

What is an Enterprise Placement?
The Enterprise Placement is a two-month employee development and coworking experience. Participating employees work from Welsh ICE for one or two days each week while continuing to carry out their existing role.
Where does it take place?
The Enterprise Placement takes place at Welsh ICE, Ty Merlin, Caerphilly Business Park, Caerphilly, CF83 3GS.
Does the employee stop doing their usual job?
No. Participants continue doing their normal work during their days at Welsh ICE. The value comes from working in a different environment, meeting new people and becoming part of the wider community.
What is included?
Participants receive coworking access on their agreed days, Welsh ICE Community Membership, access to selected events and workshops, introductions to relevant community members and use of our shared facilities.
Who should we nominate?
The Enterprise Placement could suit an employee who would benefit from greater confidence, new professional connections, fresh perspectives or exposure to entrepreneurial ways of working.
It may also be suitable for emerging leaders, remote employees or team members responsible for developing new ideas and opportunities.
Can more than one employee participate?
Potentially, yes. Let us know how many employees you are considering when registering your interest and we can discuss availability.
Can the employee choose their coworking days?
Coworking days will be agreed with Welsh ICE and the participating employer. We will aim to provide flexibility while ensuring employees have opportunities to experience the community and relevant activities.
What feedback will be required?
We will ask participating employees and employers to provide short feedback during and after the pilot. This will help us understand what worked, what value the experience created and how the Enterprise Placement could be improved.
How do we join the pilot?
