With only a few days left for budding entrepreneurs to apply for this year’s pre-start Accelerator, we’re excited to announce the appointment of business consultant, Toby Townrow, who will be heading up the programme as the Facilitator.
Toby was pleased to join the team and said:
“I’m really excited to join the Welsh ICE team as a facilitator for the Pre-Revenue AGP Programme. I’m particularly looking forward to watching people come in with an idea and finish the programme with a viable business ready to pitch to investors. To have played a part in that development will be incredibly awarding. On top of that, I will be working with the team here at Welsh ICE which is great – I’ve been made to feel so welcome by the community here since I joined last August. I can’t wait to get started!”
Toby started out in retail working for Dixons from 1992. He moved to ntl: (now Virgin Media) in 2000 in various roles but latterly as a Communications Manager for 3 years in their Technical and Customer Services contact centre in Swansea. From 2005 he worked for Unilever as a Sales Coach, teaching new starters how to sell bouillon and mayonnaise to chefs.
After being made redundant in 2014, Toby set up Toby Townrow Consulting Ltd., working as a facilitator, coach, consultant and trainer for a really diverse range of organisations from NHS and Local Authorities to the likes of Costain, National Grid, the Royal Mint, Siemens and PHS. It’s taken him halfway across the world to the Middle East which he never expected when his journey started! Toby joined Welsh ICE in August last year, running a couple of GRIT sessions along the way before taking on this new role.
On the appointment, COO, Mandy Weston said:
“We’re thrilled to welcome Toby to the Welsh ICE team as our Accelerator Facilitator. Toby brings a wealth of experience to the role which we know will greatly benefit and support the second cohort of founders that have applied to participate in the Accelerator.”
The application window for the Accelerator will be closing this Sunday. Successful applicants will be following in the footsteps of several high-growth businesses now preparing to launch, as a result of last year’s Programme. The Accelerator saw 12 entrepreneurs sign up to the government-backed Programme, to support high-growth, pre-start businesses in Wales.
