✨ The Role:
Business Support Facilitator – Newport
📍 Location: Newport (outreach-based)
🕒 Contract: Fixed-term (SPF-funded, concluding March 31st, 2026)
💰 Salary: £24,570
🌈 Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week – with flexibility baked in.
📅 Start Date: As soon as possible
As our Business Support Facilitator, you’ll be the driving force behind supporting entrepreneurs across Newport. You’ll inspire, engage, and empower people to explore business as a career path—especially those who’ve never considered it before. This is a hands-on role where you’ll facilitate programmes, host events, and build meaningful connections in the local community.
This is an SPF-funded role, and so the contract will conclude on March 31st 2026. However, as our business continues to grow, we have aspirations to transition this contract into a similar permanent position.
💼 What You’ll Be Doing
✔️ Inspire and engage diverse communities across Newport to explore entrepreneurship.
✔️ Deliver start-up and growth support programmes using our existing structures and schedules.
✔️ Book venues, speakers, and mentors from our incredible pool of ICE talent and networks.
✔️ Build relationships with local partners, venues, and community hubs.
✔️ Be the connector—help entrepreneurs access further support and build bridges between people and partners.
✔️ Promote Welsh ICE across the city as the go-to support provider for business.
✔️ Act as a mentor, sounding board, and cheerleader for participants—helping build confidence, connections, and next steps.
✔️ Work closely with the ICE delivery and marketing teams to help us reach even more people and tell powerful impact stories.
🎯 What We’re Looking For
✅ Someone already well-connected in Newport—you know the people, the places, the challenges, and the vibe.
✅ A natural relationship-builder with excellent people skills.
✅ An understanding of or experience in entrepreneurship or self-employment—or a real belief in its power to change lives.
✅ Confident in delivering workshops, facilitating conversations, and making people feel at ease.
✅ Organised, self-motivated, and good at making things happen.
✅ Passionate about inclusive support—you know business support isn’t one-size-fits-all.
✅ An understanding of what makes outreach effective—you’re ready to sell the benefits of ICE to everyone from solo side-hustlers to community leaders.
✅ A good knowledge of the barriers people face in starting a business, especially in underserved communities.
💖 Bonus Points If You:
⭐ Have experience in community outreach, business support, adult learning, or programme coordination.
⭐ Speak Welsh or another community language.
⭐ Have lived experience of overcoming barriers to business or employment.
