โ˜€๏ธ Could you be the next warm welcome at Welsh ICE?

Weโ€™re looking for a friendly, organised and community minded Community Assistant to help us keep Welsh ICE feeling welcoming, inclusive and full of life.

This is a brilliant role for someone who enjoys people, takes pride in creating a great atmosphere, and is happy to get stuck into the everyday running of a busy community hub.

You do not need experience in entrepreneurship. You might come from hospitality, retail, reception, events, customer service, community work or something completely different. What matters most is that you are warm, practical, reliable and genuinely interested in people.

๐Ÿ‘‹ About Welsh ICE

Welsh ICE is a home for entrepreneurs, start-ups, small businesses and people with ideas.

We provide workspace, community, training, events and support to help people start and grow. Our hub is full of brilliant characters, creative thinkers and people at different stages of their journey.

Weโ€™re collaborative, inclusive, ambitious and a bit playful. We work hard, care deeply, and like people to bring their true selves to work – including their own wardrobe. No corporate dress code here.

โœจ About the Role

As Community Assistant, youโ€™ll help make sure our members, visitors and partners feel welcomed, supported and looked after.

Youโ€™ll support reception, member queries, room bookings, events, inboxes, simple admin, basic finance processes and the general care of the hub.

Every day, youโ€™ll be helping create the kind of environment where people feel confident enough to start, grow, ask for help, make connections and take their next step.

Some days you might be welcoming visitors, helping a new member settle in, setting up an event, updating Eventbrite, checking an inbox, supporting a newsletter, topping up supplies or giving the coffee machine some love.

Itโ€™s a hands-on role in a small team, so we all muck in. The hub is our shared home, and everyone helps look after it.

Weโ€™re looking for someone who will take pride in protecting the feel of the hub and making sure members feel seen, supported and included.

๐ŸŒฑ Creative, curious and full of ideas

You donโ€™t need to know everything already. We can teach systems, processes and basic finance tasks. What weโ€™re really looking for is strong communication, good instincts and someone who genuinely cares about people.

๐Ÿ›  What Itโ€™s Like Working With Us

Welsh ICE is a highly collaborative team. We like ideas, empower people to grow, and care about doing good work in a way that feels human.

Fun is a big part of our culture – but so are high standards, kindness, ownership and care.

This could be a great long term opportunity for someone who wants to build experience across community, operations, events, admin and member support. As Welsh ICE grows, there may be opportunities to grow with us.

Weโ€™re also happy to talk about flexible working patterns where possible, because we know people do their best work when work fits real life.

We particularly welcome applications from people with different backgrounds, routes into work and lived experiences.

๐Ÿ“ข Community Assistant Recruitment Process

We want our recruitment process to feel welcoming, useful and fair.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to a relaxed group session on Monday 20th July 2026. This will be an evening session, so please make a note of this date if you are interested in the role.

This is not about catching anyone out. It is a chance for us to get to know you, and for you to get to know us too. Youโ€™ll meet some of the team, learn more about Welsh ICE, hear about the role, take part in a few light activities and have space to ask questions.

After that, a smaller number of applicants will be invited to a final one to one conversation between Wednesday 22nd July 2026 and Friday 24th July 2026. These can be daytime or evening slots.

The successful candidate will be contacted on Monday 27th July 2026. We hope to arrange the earliest possible start date so they can spend time shadowing our current Community Assistant before she moves on at the end of August.

If you need any adjustments to take part in the process, or if there is anything that would help you show up at your best, please let us know in advance. Weโ€™ll do what we reasonably can to support you.
